The River Vale Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is looking for additional volunteers to join the ranks of citizen volunteers within the Township! The next training session starts Sept. 26, 2024. This group is comprised of residents ages 18+ from the Township who receive specialized training in the various areas of emergency management and response. The purpose of the CERT program is to train ordinary citizens to care for themselves, their family, their neighbors and finally, their community, in case of an emergency. These volunteers will help to improve the response and preparedness of the community and emergency services. The CERT training and education experience forms a crucial link between the community and the professional emergency response teams. Sign up today! There is NO recycling pick up on Wednesday, July 31 this week. The next recycling pick up (glass, aluminum, plastic and tin only) will be on Wednesday, August 7. River Vale is thrilled to announce a free afternoon of enchanting outdoor music featuring the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra. This special event, open to all residents of Bergen County, will take place at River Vale’s Upper Grove Field, across from the River Vale Public Library, on Sunday, July 21 at 4 pm. The performance will last approximately 90 minutes without an intermission, providing a perfect opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a summer late afternoon together. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic blankets to make the most of this delightful experience. Clyde’s Italian Ices and Ice Cream & The Hen and the Hog food trucks will be on hand for refreshments to purchase, or you can bring your own! The Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra is a regionally based, auditioned orchestra located in Ridgewood, New Jersey. For over 80 years, the RSO has served northern New Jersey with high quality performances, internationally renowned guest soloists and unique education opportunities for young musicians through their Young Musicians Festival.
