2025 Form PAS-1 applications for property tax relief for seniors and certain disability recipients are now available at River Vale Town Hall, 406 Rivervale Road.

The deadline to apply is November 2, 2026.

The Township of River Vale, the Eid Committee of New Jersey, and River Vale Muslims warmly invite you to our annual Crescent Lighting celebration on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5–7 PM at the River Vale Community Center (indoors).

This special evening celebrates Ramadan and offers our entire community the opportunity to come together, learn more about Muslim culture, and share in this meaningful tradition. All are welcome!

🕔 Doors open at 5:00 PM – enjoy crafts and refreshments.
🕌 Welcome remarks begin at 5:25 PM.
🌅 Iftar will be observed at 5:33 PM, and guests are invited to eat and drink as the brief formal program (approximately 30 minutes) continues.

Crafts and food will remain available after the program for those who wish to stay.
Following the event, the crescent will be lit nightly outside Town Hall throughout Ramadan 2026.

Join the River Vale Shamrock 5K Run Charity Event, presented by Run 4 The Love & Fitness with Friends in partnership with the Township of River Vale and the River Vale Police Department!

On Sunday, March 15, the beautiful Mark Lane Sports Complex in River Vale, NJ will be the starting point of a fun, festive, and community-oriented 5K run/walk! This event supports the River Vale Police Officers Association, bringing neighbors together for fitness, fun, and charity.

Race Day: March 15

Registration Opens: 7:00 AM

Race Begins: 8:00 AM

Course: A scenic 3.1-mile route through the charming streets of River Vale and back to the Sports Complex

Adult Registration: $25

Kids Registration: $15

Price Increase: Registration fees will go up on March 1

Participants: Runners, walkers, crawlers, dogs, and strollers are all welcome!

The route takes you along picturesque town streets that showcase the local charm and scenic views of River Vale. After crossing the finish line back at the Sports Complex, take time to relax, socialize, and enjoy post-race refreshments. Dogs and strollers aren’t just allowed — they’re encouraged! This family-friendly event is perfect for participants of all ages and abilities.

All proceeds from the event benefit the River Vale Police Association, helping support local officers and community initiatives. Your participation makes a meaningful difference while promoting health, fitness, and togetherness across town.

With more snow expected this weekend, be mindful of the safety regulations in place to ensure our D.P.W. salt trucks and plows are able to get down every street.

Per Township Ordinance, "no person shall throw, place or deposit snow or ice into or on any public street, sidewalk or private property belonging to another." When cars are taken out of driveways and parked in the street to be cleared of snow, it creates a hazard by not only putting more snow in the street, but at times, not allowing room for plows to pass. Please keep cars in your driveway until the storm is over and roads are clear.

River Vale's Snow Removal Tips and Winter Operation Frequently Asked Questions are also available on our website for review. Please be reminded that the sidewalk in front of your property needs to be cleared of snow 12 hours after the end of the storm.

First quarter 2026 property taxes are due February 1. The last day to pay without penalty is Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

*Please note, cash payments are no longer accepted for property taxes.*

It is recommended that you utilize the following methods to make your payment:

1. Drop Off / Mail in Checks:
You can mail in or drop off your check using the drop box mailbox at the front door of Town Hall, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please include your tax stub with your check in a sealed envelope.

Checks should be payable to the “Township of River Vale”. Please DO NOT leave any cash in the tax payment drop box. If mailing your payment and you would like a receipt, please include your entire tax bill with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Post-Dated Checks: By statute, our office is required to deposit payments as soon as they are received and we cannot accept “post-dated” checks, therefore, please date your check the day you write it out, just as you would if you were paying in person.

2. Online Bill Pay from your bank:
Please be aware payments that you initiate with your own bank through online bill pay should be scheduled in advance of any due date to allow a sufficient number of mailing days for the Township to receive, process and apply the payment to your account. Bank payments made from online bill pay are sent through the mail. The Township is not responsible for late payments due to delays in mail service or bank processing. Please include your Block and Lot, Last name and/or property address in order for us to apply the payment to the correct account.

3. Electronic Check or Credit Card: Directly from the Township’s website https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/Wipp/?wippid=0253

Fees are as follows:
ACH or e-check: $1.50 per transaction
Debit or Credit cards: 2.65% of the payment

4. Direct Debit - ACH/Direct Withdrawal
The Tax Collector’s Office now offers an Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank draft program (direct withdrawal) to our taxpayers. This service assures your payment will be received in a timely manner as well as providing a safe and secure way to pay your taxes without the worry of mail delivery or coming to pay in person.
