Dear River Vale Property Owners,

Third quarter 2026 property taxes are due August 1. The last day to pay without penalty is Monday, August 10, 2026.
*Please note, cash payments are no longer accepted for property taxes.*

It is recommended that you utilize the following methods to make your payment:

1. Drop Off / Mail in Checks:
You can mail in or drop off your check using the drop box mailbox at the front door of Town Hall, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please include your tax stub with your check in a sealed envelope.

Checks should be payable to the “Township of River Vale”. Please DO NOT leave any cash in the tax payment drop box. If mailing your payment and you would like a receipt, please include your entire tax bill with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Post-Dated Checks: By statute, our office is required to deposit payments as soon as they are received and we cannot accept “post-dated” checks, therefore, please date your check the day you write it out, just as you would if you were paying in person.

2. Online Bill Pay from your bank:
Please be aware payments that you initiate with your own bank through online bill pay should be scheduled in advance of any due date to allow a sufficient number of mailing days for the Township to receive, process and apply the payment to your account. Bank payments made from online bill pay are sent through the mail. The Township is not responsible for late payments due to delays in mail service or bank processing. Please include your Block and Lot, Last name and/or property address in order for us to apply the payment to the correct account.

3. Electronic Check or Credit Card - Directly from the Township’s website
Fees are as follows:
ACH or e-check: $1.50 per transaction
Debit or Credit cards: 2.65% of the payment

4. Direct Debit - ACH/Direct Withdrawal
The Tax Collector’s Office now offers an Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank draft program (direct withdrawal) to our taxpayers. This service assures your payment will be received in a timely manner as well as providing a safe and secure way to pay your taxes without the worry of mail delivery or coming to pay in person. Road Improvement Project Schedule – Friday, August 7

On Friday, August 7, we are expecting milling to take place on Donna Court and Coopers Lane.

Paving is planned on Bergen Place, Baker Court, Doretta Street, Donna Court and Bernita Drive

Officers will be on scene throughout the project to assist residents, motorists, and contractors and to help ensure traffic moves safely through the work zone.

Residents on the affected streets are asked to remove their vehicles from their driveways prior to the 7:00 AM start and relocate them to nearby side streets to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently.

Please expect temporary road closures, traffic delays, and limited access while work is underway. We ask that everyone follow all posted detours, road closure signs, and the directions of officers and traffic control personnel. The River Vale Rascals Soccer Clinic is back for Fall 2026! This fun six-week instructional program is designed for River Vale residents ages 3–5 (not yet entering Kindergarten) and introduces young players to the fundamentals of soccer in a positive, engaging environment.

First Friends is a municipally sponsored playgroup, run by volunteer parents, for children ages 1 - 5. Children, as well as their parents, have the opportunity to meet new families and make new friends.
