The Township of River Vale has lightning detectors placed at various locations in town. They are designed to detect lightning strikes within ten miles of each location. Like most technology, and with the unpredictability of weather, they are not always 100% accurate. If you hear thunder, or see lightning, please get indoors as quickly as possible.
You can monitor the current status of our lightning detectors from our website. Please see the Lightning Detection webpage for more details. https://www.rivervalenj.org/o/trv/page/lightning-detection Be safe!

River Vale's health services provider, Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission, is offering in-person and virtual Health Education programs in partnership with Valley Health.
These Health programs are free and open to the public and are updated frequently with new programs added every month! This is also the best place to see the schedule of in-person events in your community by our Health Educator.
