Summer 2021 - Township sponsored events will be managed on a case by case basis.
11/3/2020 - Due to on-going safety concerns, along with the recent increase in cases, Township-sponsored indoor winter sports, recreation programs and events are suspended until further notice. This includes River Vale Basketball, Rabies Clinic, Hanukkah Menorah Lighting, Christmas Tree Lighting and Mayor’s Wellness Programs. We hope to be able to re-visit this decision for the new year.
10/5/2020 - We regret to announce that the Township will be not holding our traditional October community events this year due to COVID-19. This includes the River Vale Fire Prevention Open House (and school visits), River Vale Day and the Halloween Ragamuffin Parade & Celebration.
5/21/20 - The 2020 River Vale Summer Camp Programs are cancelled. This includes Camp Have Some Fun, Kindergarten Kamp, Safety Town and Mozart to Monet.
5/19/20 - The River Vale Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 23 and the Town Wide Garage Sale scheduled for Saturday, June 6 are both cancelled.
4/1/20 - The River Vale Easter Egg Hunt & Breakfast scheduled for Saturday, April 11 is cancelled.
3/30/20 - The Free Paper Shredding event scheduled at Mark Lane on Saturday, April 4 is postponed. A new date will be announced when available.
3/17/20 - The River Vale Joint Planning Board Meeting scheduled for 3/25 has been cancelled. The next meeting will be Wed. 4/29 at 7:30 pm.
3/16/20 - The Motor Vehicle on Wheels scheduled for March 25 and the County Passport Services scheduled for March 24-26 will be rescheduled at a later date.
-The CERT training set to begin March 24 is postponed.
3/13/20 - In the interest of public safety, all Township-sponsored events, programs and classes are cancelled until further notice. This includes all indoor and outdoor sports programs and clinics.
2022 - Face masks are optional inside Town Hall and the River Vale Public Library
8/10/2021 - Face masks are required inside Town Hall and the River Vale Public Library, regardless of vaccination status.
July 2021 - Masks are requested inside Township buildings for those who have NOT been vaccinated.
5/4/21 - Beginning Wednesday, May 5, Town Hall will be re-opened to the general public from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Only two visitors are permitted in the building at a time, so utilizing the payment and paperwork drop-off bins in the front vestibule is encouraged. Please enter through the front entrance facing Rivervale Road. Masks are required.

6/15/20 - River Vale Town Hall is now re-opened to the public.
6/12/20 - River Vale picnic areas and pavilions are re-opened to the public.
5/15/20 - River Vale ballfields and tennis courts are re-opened to the public. Details available in Mayor Jasionowski’s update dated May 12 above.
4/30/20 - The 2nd Quarter Property Tax Grace Period is extended to June 1, 2020. River Vale parks and the Poplar Road Nature Sanctuary will be re-opened to the public effective May 2. Playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts and other Township facilities remain closed.
4/21/20 - The River Vale Recycling Center will now be opened on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. We will only allow access to one car at a time, and six-foot social distance must be maintained at all times. Face masks and gloves must be worn while dropping off recyclables. Additionally, the chipping of large branches over four feet will resume on Mondays and the pickup of appliances/white goods can again be scheduled for Thursdays with the Department of Public Works. 4/6/20 - From the DPW - Large branch (over 4 ft) and heavy wood chipping is suspended until further notice. White goods/appliance pick up is also suspended until further notice.

3/16/20 - Effective immediately, all Township-owned facilities, parks, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts and fields are closed to the public until further notice.
-River Vale Town Hall is closed to the public. Please call or email the appropriate department and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you need to drop off paperwork, please leave it in the appropriate bin in the vestibule in front of Town Hall. Please put any payments in the lockbox on the door. Both can also be mailed to 406 Rivervale Road, River Vale, NJ 07675.

OVERNIGHT PARKING: The Township Overnight Parking Ordinance has been suspended until April 1, 2020. Please do not call the Police Department for overnight parking permission.
ALARM PERMITS: Annual alarm permit applications were mailed out recently. Please do not bring these applications to headquarters. Instead, keep these permits as we will arrange for their return at a later time (yet to be determined) without penalty.
