Safety Town is a safety program for River Vale and Hillsdale children eligible to enter public or parochial Kindergarten in September 2021. Non-resident children who will be attending St. John’s Academy in Hillsdale are also eligible to attend.
Safety Town is designed for incoming kindergarten children to learn about types of safety behavior. Children will learn songs and poems, work on arts and crafts projects, and enjoy fun, educational programs from various presenters. Days will be planned around safety themes including fire safety, playground safety, stranger danger, first aid, as well as many others. Limiting group sizes, wearing face masks, and social distancing will be enforced as per NJ Executive Order No. 237 and the NJ 2021 COVID-19 Youth Summer Camp Standards Guidelines.
The 2021 program will run July 12 through July 23 from 9:15 am - 11:45 am at the River Vale Community Center at 628 Rivervale Road.
The fee is $95 per camper. Payment is via credit card only. Registration will be open starting April 1, 2021 at 8:00am via Community Pass online registration system. In addition to registering and paying online, this mandatory COVID-19 waiver must be completed and a scanned copy sent to email@example.com or put in an envelope and dropped off or mailed to Town Hall at 406 Rivervale Road, ATTN: Joanne Allgor, SAFETYTOWN, in order to take part.
The online Volunteer Counselor Application will be accepted starting April 1. Once the maximum number of volunteer positions are reached, remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
