| RIVER VALE ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTH
DESCRIPTION
The River Vale Advisory Board of Health is composed of seven (7) members who live and/or work in the Township and have expressed an interest in the public health of the community. The members are appointed to a three (3) year term by the Mayor and serve without compensation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Advisory Board of Health shall:
• Make recommendations to the Health Officer and Mayor concerning or relating to the operation and administration of the Division of Health.
• Make recommendation to the Township Council or touching upon matters of policy or ordinance affecting the Division of Health.
• Review Division of Health Staff reports in preparation for discussion at Board Meetings.
• Serve as a conduit and liaison for local public health issues affecting the community.
• Keep abreast of current health issues on the nation, state and county level for the purpose of discussion and recommendation.
• Plan and discuss public health programs appropriate to the needs of the community.
• Motivate other residents to live a healthier lifestyle to extend the quality of life.
• Attend quarterly Advisory Board of Health Meetings.
MEETINGS
Advisory Board of Health meetings will be held the third Tuesday of the last month of each quarter (March, June, September, December) at 8:00PM in Town Hall. All board members are encouraged to attend. Robert’s rules will be in effect and an official meeting will require a quorum of three members. The Chairman of the Advisory Board of Health, who will be selected by the other members, will facilitate the meeting. An agenda for the meeting will be mailed to members one to two weeks prior. |
