The River Vale Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating a series of car burglaries that have occurred in the recent past. This problem is not limited to River Vale as other area Police Departments are investigating similar matters. Detectives note that a commonality for the majority of these car burglaries is that the victim's vehicle was left unlocked. They offer this advice to lessen the odds of being victimized: lock your vehicle doors at all times, leave outside lights on overnight, remove any items of value from the vehicle, and remove or secrete loose change or other money. Detectives remind all residents to remain alert and contact Police if they observe any suspicious activity. Mission StatementThe River Vale Police Department, under the command of Chief Aaron Back, is available to assist it's residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to police service, the River Vale Police Department is also the primary dispatch coordination center for the Fire Department and Ambulance Corps. The River Vale Police Department is dedicated to the protection of life and property, preservation of the public peace and the prevention of crime.
